What is Your Wish this Holiday Season?

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of UPS. All opinions are 100% mine.

My wish this holiday season is to spread cheer and gratitude. I’d really love to not just say my appreciation but show it in small and simple ways. If I could, I'd walk around with a bag full of gift cards and give it to everyone that I wanted to say thanks to- the garbage man who is so nice to my boys, the patient cashiers at the grocery store, the best neighbors ever, and most of all, the staff and teachers at my children’s school.

It has been so cold here lately! Is it cold where you are too? And you know what I’m doing in the freezing cold? I’m sitting in my nice warm car while I wait in carpool for my kids. Meanwhile tutors, teachers, and other staff members are running back and forth from cars to the school building to help everyone get home safely. They must have been FREEZING! I mean it was really cold and windy. I’d love to just bring them all a gift card next time so they could go get some hot chocolate afterwards as a way to say thanks. How great would that be?

What is your wish? #WishesDelivered

My kids go to the best school full of people who really care. I know because I’m there volunteering every week. I know the names and faces of everyone who is involved in my children’s lives. They work so hard and do it with such a cheerful attitude. I don’t think I have ever seen a frown on our principal’s face. He is amazing and all the kids love him. I am forever grateful for people with the patience, optimism, and determination to work with these great groups of kids.

We chose to go to this school. There is another one 2 minutes away from our house but we go to a charter school instead. I can’t say enough good things about the school but the one thing they are lacking in is sufficient funds. Since it is a charter school, they don’t have the same funding as a public school- even less if you can imagine. So I know that the teachers there aren’t as well paid as those in the other schools but they stay anyway because it is a good school and they want to be a part of something great. I am so appreciative of them and would really love to show it. Since I can’t actually hand out gift cards every day, I do what I can with what I have and with my time. What do you do to give back to your school? Use this template to write your appreciation to your children’s school, teacher, or someone that means a lot to you.

Don’t stop with the letter though! UPS is currently giving you the chance to make a wish. Between now and the end of the year, share your wish using #WishesDelivered. Every time you do, whether on Twitter, Instagram or on the #WishesDelivered site, UPS will donate $1 to one of three charities: The Boys and Girls Club of America, The Salvation Army, or Toys for Tots Literacy Program (up to $100K). Not only do you get to enjoy some wishful thinking; your wish will really be helping someone else! So go ahead and indulge in your fantasy for a little while as you think about what you really want to give this holiday season.

Share your wishes in the comments below too and let’s see if we can help each other make those wishes come true! Remember each wish shared on Twitter and Instagram is another $1 for charity.  Your_wishes_delivered
